YOUNG PEOPLE IN THE CHURCH OF SCOTLAND

Young people are incredibly important to the life of the Church of Scotland. In Sunday School, youth clubs and other church activities children make friends and become part of the church family. 2002 to 2003 was even designated a Year of the Child.

Every year a Youth Assembly gathers for fellowship, fun and debate. This has proved to be a powerful forum for enabling the Church’s young people to voice their opinions and concerns and to comment on the business of the wider Church of Scotland. In 1998, for the first time, the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland welcomed a group of 30 delegates from the Youth Assembly. There was no doubting the impact they made!
